Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is the Islamic architecture mosque located in the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. It’s about 10 km away from Brunei International Airport. It was built in an artificial lagoon on the banks of the Brunei River at Kampong Aye. Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is named after Omar Ali Saifuddien III, the 28th Sultan of Brunei. Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III has faith in Islamic religion, who initiated to construct a Mosque for the Islamic people of Brunei, which serves as a symbol of the Islamic faith in Brunei. It was started constructing on 1954, and completed its construction in 1958. It took 4 years to complete its construction work.
